"My husband, Christopher Boylan '88, and I (also '88) met at Vassar our senior year. When we decided to get married, the beautiful Vassar Chapel was our first choice. Although March 23rd, 1991, was overcast and a bit chilly, it didn't seem to matter to the two of us. It was a warm and happy day as far as we were concerned!
We were married at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon at the Vassar Chapel by Fr. Charles Beausoleil from the Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. The bridesmaids wore black tea-length dresses and the groomsmen wore black tuxedos. Chris looked very handsome in his black double-breasted tuxedo, black cuff links, black bow tie and black leather Johnston & Murphy shoes. I wore an ivory-colored, silk dress with lace bodice which I purchased at Kleinfeld's (Brooklyn) with my female relatives in tow. It had balloon sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and a cathedral train and...many, many buttons in the back for the bustle! My veil was ivory, double-tier, cathedral length with piping. It was held in place by a comb of ivory-colored silk flowers. On my feet I wore ivory-colored silk pumps and I carried a cascade bouquet of white flowers." - Christina Boylan (Vassar class of 1988)
