Donate to the VCCC

Did you know?

For every object donated to the Vassar College Costume Collection, it costs us at least:

  • $18 for an archival, acid-free box to store it in
  • $16 for acid-free tissue to wrap it in, replaced at least every 5 years, for the next 20 years
  • $20 for student labor to catalog the object and describe it for our database
  • for a total of $54

and that doesn't include costs for conservation, maintenance, or for exhibitions!

Please consider making a donation to The Holly Hummel Fund for the Historic Costume Collection

Established by students and friends of Holly Hummel on the occasion of her retirement from Vassar College in 2010, the Holly Hummel Fund has been created as an expendable fund for resources needed to maintain and exhibit objects from the Vassar College Costume Collection, a research collection of historic garments dating from the mid-nineteenth century. The Fund may be used for supplies, consultant's fees, or professional development for staff or students. The Fund will have oversight by the Department of Drama with the approval of the Dean of Faculty. The duration and extent of the program will be dependent on funds raised.

Checks should be made out to Vassar College, should indicate "Holly Hummel Fund" on the Memo section of the check, and should be sent to:

Office of Alumnae/i Affairs and Development
Box 725, Vassar College
161 College Avenue
Poughkeepsie, NY 12603
