worn in 1925
cotton, metal closures
Gift of Kathryn Keeler Sherrill, VC Class of 1927

This dress was worn by Kathryn Keeler (Sherrill) ’27 for the Daisy Chain at the 1925 Commencement. The dress is white, as is traditional for the Daisy Chain. Though the Daisy Chain dress functions as a kind of uniform, both from girl to girl and from year to year, this dress’s deemphasized waistline, short sleeves, and raised hemline speak to contemporary fashion and the mood of the time.

Slip is not original.
