Teal Silk Day Dress

Floor length teal day dress with a pink chiffon fabric belt printed with blue flowers. There is also a teal belt buckle and other details such as teal buttons down the skirt and crescent details on the sleeves. The teal buttons also decorate the collar of the dress and they line the lapel trim which is covered in the same pink chiffon printed fabric. The sleeves are three quarter length. On the inside there is a lining on the bodice that goes halfway down the length of the skirt. Could the pink trim have been added at a later date?

The skirt is in good condition but the shoulders of the dress are shredding. Some of the fabric is eroding and there are small holes throughout the dress and there is some discoloration as well. The lining is stained and 'land' is written on the lining. Both armpits are discolored and shredding and there is a large hole on the right armpit that was badly repaired. The fabric on the buttons is ripping and disintegrating. A lot of the stitching has fallen out throughout the dress and the hem of the skirt was redone at a later date and some parts of it are shredding.



Large tears at both shoulders. Hem had frayed and was sloppily resewn.
