from the donor: "I always knew if I got married I would design my own wedding dress. I never planned on marriage, but when lucky enough to be asked by the love of my life, I didn't say no :).
When Kevin and I began to plan our wedding, we knew we wanted to reflect our non traditional taste and our particular love of style and design. No stuffy sit down dinner or ceremony based on religious traditions we didn't uphold. So we wrote our own vows and were married at sunset on a downtown manhattan rooftop by a dear family friend.
Our "cocktail wedding" was more like the best party we'd ever throws. The invite was a CD case with album art containing the event details. I tried on some gowns at boutiques for the fun of it, but could never picture myself in a tradtional floor length gown. A lifelong clothing and costume designer, I designed and made my own dress, a 50s inspired silhouette with leather and metal hardware details."
