Rosalind Sturges née Howe (1907-1999) was a member of the Vassar Class of 1928. She was the daughter of Rhode Island architect Wallis E. Howe and Mary Locke. At Vassar, she was noted for her artistic ability, specifically in cartography featuring architectural highlights. Vassar commissioned a map from her immediately after her graduation, and her career later featured commissions for maps such as one of Wellesley College and, for Yankee Magazine's bicentennial issue, of New England's architectural heritage. Her papers and maps, the Rosalind Howe Sturges Allen Papers ca 1928-1999, now reside in the Vassar Special Collections Library. She married Rev. Philemon Sturges shortly after graduation. The couple had four children and lived in Philadelphia after shorter stints in Oregon and Massachusetts.
