Other 1920's items from Leontine Kennedy McPhillips ‘26 were also included.

This jacket style wedding mini-dress was donated by Mary Lee Hartzell, class of 1953. Mary Lee's sister, Ellen McPhillips Baumann, class of 1963, wore the dress in her 1968 wedding. The dress was donated along with Mary Lee's own wedding dress, her mother's wedding dress, and her daughter's wedding dress.

Silk wedding dress from 1954, worn by Mary Lee McPhillips Hartzell, class of 1953��this donation from Mary Lee Hartzell ‘53 included 4 wedding dresses from 3 generations of Vassar alums: Leontine Kennedy McPhillips ‘26 (grandmother) (see 2007.023), Mary Lee McPhillips Hartzell ‘53 (mother)(see 2007.022), Ellen McPhillips Bauman ‘63 (sister)(see 2007.020), and Leontine Hartzell ‘79 (daughter)(see 2007.021). Other 1920's items from Leontine Kennedy McPhillips ‘26 were also included.

This wedding dress was donated by Mary Lee Hartzell, class of 1953. Mary Lee wore it in her 1954 wedding. The dress was donated along with her mother's wedding dress, her sister's wedding dress, and her daughter's wedding dress.
Treatment
Procedures that have been completed to repair, conserve, stabilize, or display an object, in a narrative paragraph or list.
Several layers of petticoat were needed to support the fullness of the skirt, especially at the hips. Padding at the chest and new papier-mâché shoulders were added to the mannequin, which then got a new cover. A metal eye or thread loop was added where one was missing at the waist. Treatment was completed by Caroline Picher.

Small brown stain at center front of bodice near waist, some discoloration, and some disintegration of material, especially on the collar. The wires were covered with ivory thread but much of it is missing so the wires can be seen through the mesh.

Ivory mesh dress with thick silk satin ribbon embroidery of the same color around the bottom of the skirt, sleeves and bodice, and down the length of the dress, on the front and back. the panels of embroidery are also decorated with buttons. the dress is floor length with half-length sleeves with a cuff of embroidery in the middle of the sleeve. there is a satin belt around the waist. There is a high collar enforced with spiral bone wires. The bodice is lined with a thin silk material, but the sleeves and skirt are not lined. The dress clasps up the back. The �cream taffeta bodice lining may be a modern addition�.
