I met my husband, Owen Wiles ('07) at Vassar, so it was only natural that we should get married on campus (7/16/11). Our wedding party was nearly half Vassar alums, and one in particular, Margaret Files ('08) was instrumental in helping me find my wedding apparel. She combed the internet looking for dresses that had the elements I wanted (and she helped me figure out exactly what it was that I wanted), but in the end, we couldn't find the perfect dress, so I went to Mika Inatome and had one custom made. It was a lot of fun to watch Mika bring my ideas to life, from sketch to finished dress!
My husband decided he wanted all the men in seersucker suits, and not wanting to miss out on the custom clothing fun, he went with both of our fathers to have his suit made-to-measure at My.Suit. From there, the rest of the details fell into place - sunflowers, lilac dresses for the bridesmaids, yellow knit ties for the groomsmen, and yellow dresses with adorable flower headbands for the flower girls. We also got fun hats and parasols involved for some pictures. Owen chose white bucks because apparently that's what you wear with seersucker, and I picked purple shoes (actually Margaret found them for me) for a pop of color.
I included several pictures taken on campus (Shakespeare Garden and Chapel). The picture outside of the chapel includes all the Vassar alums (and one current professor, Jennifer Walter) who were in attendance, they span many years! I, of course, have many more (and higher quality) pictures, but I didn't want to overwhelm you, so just let me know if you want anything else.

I married Ensign Paul Tobin who had just graduated from the US Naval Academy. One of my bridesmaids was my classmate Elizabeth Denholm (Mazza) - she is second from the left in the photo. The bridesmaid dresses were a pale blue. My wedding dress was off-white. I had it remade for my oldest daughter when she married in October 1989. My husband and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary this year and he had a 35 year career in the Navy retiring as a Rear Admiral in 1998. The dress is in my closet, hopefully preserved, in a box.

I graduated in the morning(as President of my class and a summa (or magna) cum laude and married at three in the afternoon in the Vassar College Chapel, witnessed by family, friends and many classmates. It was a most exciting and hectic and memorable day!
My dress was white organdy with re embroidered Alencon lace and seed pearls scattered throughout. My headpiece was Alencon with seed pearls. It was a very classic dress of the period.
The wedding dress was worn as a party and Hallowe’en costume many times before it finally bit he dust!"

I graduated in the morning(as President of my class and a summa (or magna) cum laude and married at three in the afternoon in the Vassar College Chapel, witnessed by family, friends and many classmates. It was a most exciting and hectic and memorable day!
My dress was white organdy with re embroidered Alencon lace and seed pearls scattered throughout. My headpiece was Alencon with seed pearls. It was a very classic dress of the period.
The wedding dress was worn as a party and Hallowe’en costume many times before it finally bit he dust!"

I'm Iman, class of 2003. Although we both live in Toronto, my parents were keen on having the wedding at home in Pakistan so as to grant my nani's perennial wish of seeing a grandchild get married. My gorgeous husband Noorez and I tied the knot on March 7, 2013, in a beautiful 4-day wedding in Karachi. I slept for about a week afterwards.
At the "qawwali" event, where traditional folk singer Fareed Ayaz (featured in the film The Reluctant Fundamentalist) came to our house for a private concert, I wore a turqoise sleeveless kameez by Pakistani designer Shamsha Hashwani.
At the actual 'wedding' function, I wore a hand-worked gold lame sari by Pakistani couture bridal designer Bunto Kazmi. Noorez wore a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo. My jewellery is traditional Indian hand-crafted 'kundan', made of refined gold, whch is a style popular with Rajasthani royalty. A couple of pics attached. I attached some of the decor of both nights too just in case. The purple-ish one is of our garden, covered in carpet, on the qawwali night.
Can't wait to see the costume collection.

I think this is a great idea — I just got married myself and am fascinated by what other people wear to their weddings.
I'm Iman, class of 2003. Although we both live in Toronto, my parents were keen on having the wedding at home in Pakistan so as to grant my nani's perennial wish of seeing a grandchild get married. My gorgeous husband Noorez and I tied the knot on March 7, 2013, in a beautiful 4-day wedding in Karachi. I slept for about a week afterwards.
At the "qawwali" event, where traditional folk singer Fareed Ayaz (featured in the film The Reluctant Fundamentalist) came to our house for a private concert, I wore a turqoise sleeveless kameez by Pakistani designer Shamsha Hashwani.
At the actual 'wedding' function, I wore a hand-worked gold lame sari by Pakistani couture bridal designer Bunto Kazmi. Noorez wore a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo. My jewellery is traditional Indian hand-crafted 'kundan', made of refined gold, whch is a style popular with Rajasthani royalty. A couple of pics attached. I attached some of the decor of both nights too just in case. The purple-ish one is of our garden, covered in carpet, on the qawwali night.
Can't wait to see the costume collection.
